DRAFT REVIEW: Ruedrich's Red Seal Ale
RATING
86

North Coast is known for some pretty outstanding brews. Its Old Rasputin is one of the best stouts made in California, and it turns out Red Seal Ale is pretty darn good as well. Of course, it helps that it starts with some fruity esters in the aroma as well as just a hint of peppery phenols. Soft Pacific Northwest hops are pleasing in the aroma but truly shine in the mouth of this beer. Red Seal has some of the most refreshing flavoring hops in the swallow and they seem to linger all the way on the back of your tongue. The malt is mild but tasty and does a fine job of balancing this brew. It is somewhat metallic in the finish and if the carbonation were slightly lower this might not be as perceptible.
