La Folie 2010
Flanders Red Ale
ABV: 6.0% IBU: 18 |
This inviting, dark ruby beer pours with a small head and a huge aroma: Sweet and sour cherries blend with bucolic Brettano-myces yeast, while a hint of candied orange injects a ray of sun into the bouquet. Throughout the swallow, a sweet and sour banter keeps the mouth engaged: Tart cherry shoots down the tongue while the fruit’s sweeter side dances in the middle. Although light, the Brett lends a rustic note that pulls out the beer’s woody oak flavors in the back of the throat. A sour dryness holds La Folie’s place on the tongue until the next sip. |
