DRAFT REVIEW: Red Poppy
RATING
99

Red Poppy pours mahogany and wears a fleeting tan head. It fills the air with a wonderfully bracing aroma: Sour cherry, melon and funky, earthy Brettanomyces yeast surge to the nose while sophisticated hints of oak and vanilla smooth the edges. The initial sour wave that assaults the tongue grips everything in its path, sucking up moisture and leaving behind rounded woody flavors. Plum and dark cherry pool in the middle of the tongue as sharp biting tartness rises in the back. Multilayered and aggressive, Red Poppy’s a wild ride that will leave you awestruck.
