DRAFT REVIEW: Trippel
RATING
88

The bready and zesty nature of this beer’s aroma is striking, grabbing your attention even before you notice the pale gold color and frothy, white head. The beer is bottle-conditioned, and its tight, tiny bubbles are a fine example of some of the good that comes from allowing beer to referment in the bottle. While the flavor overall is subdued, there are zesty qualities similar to those in the aroma found alongside the white-sugar sweetness. Trippel is medium-bodied, has a gentle alcohol warmth, and gentle carbonation, making it easy to enjoy by the mouthful. The aftertaste is sweet, with hop spice on the sides of the mouth, and soft fruit undertones on the tip of the tongue.
