DRAFT REVIEW: Scarlet Lady Ale
RATING
85

This burnt orange brew with an off-white head immediately bursts with an aroma of caramel and grainy malts, but inhale a few more times to reveal soft floral hops and just a touch of fruity esters. On the palate, Scarlet Lady starts off with brief caramel malts and fruit, but as it runs down the tongue, the flavors thin out before reaching a moderately bitter conclusion. The bitterness throughout matches well with the brew’s inherent dryness, and the two combined with spritzy carbonation create a cohesive swallow. Overall, however, Scarlet Lady could benefit from a bit more malt robustness.
