A triple-medalist at the GABF, Siberian Night is a beer that lives up to its accolades. It pours thick, inky black with a chocolate-brown head. The aroma is laden with coffee and bittersweet chocolate; soft plum scents dance in the background. This beer soaks into the tongue with hearty, roasted grains and apricot and burnt sugar notes woven through the swallow. Siberian Night is a powerhouse, chewy with soft carbonation and a touch of astringency to mellow out the malts’ natural sweetness. In fact, the strength of the flavors actually masks the brew’s elevated ABV. The finish is dry with coffee notes that linger for a while. |
