DRAFT REVIEW: Double Stout
RATING
93

This opaque brew pours black with a long-lasting, dense brown head. Bittersweet chocolate and deep, roasted coffee scents that waft up from the beer showcase hints of brown sugar and alcohol. Its taste is pure comfort: Gentle roasted nutty flavors, cocoa nibs, and black coffee ease the beginning of the swallow. The finish is complex, with textures of earthy, peppery hops and subtle dark cherries. This is a big, chewy brew with gentle carbonation and softer-than-expected alcohol warmth. Green Flash’s stout holds all of these flavors for some time, each sticking around until well after the last swallow.
