DRAFT REVIEW: Coney Island Albino Python
RATING
90

This is a beer that pushes the boundaries of the American wheat style guidelines, and is unlike most others in the category. Albino Python is part American wheat, part witbier, part lager, and entirely fun. It pours with a massive head, requiring skillful technique to keep it in the glass; the head exudes a wild bouquet uncommon for any beer style, teeming with fresh-cut roses, honey, and lemongrass. The peculiarities don’t stop at
the nose: A wallop of sugary malt sweetness greets the tongue, though it’s touched by a slightly off-putting herbal character. That’s the only flaw here, as the rich grainy flavors spar with assertive spicy hops, rendering a brilliantly complex, effervescent and unruly tasting experience.
