DRAFT REVIEW: Raspberry Trail Ale
RATING
87

Sometimes, beer enthusiasts find fruit beer to be sweet and unapproachable; a bastardization of beer. This is certainly not the case with Marin's Raspberry Trail Ale. Pouring light gold in color and showing only a slight haze, the beer's appearance matches the clean aroma, with a tart burst of sweet raspberries showing through. In fact, the flavor almost mirrors the aroma. Raspberry Trail begins sweet, has a bit of tartness to it that reminds us of a wheat beer, and an obvious presence of raspberries. With its dry finish, lingering spicy bitterness, and mild astringency, this beer is not sweet, but very drinkable.
