DRAFT REVIEW: Altenmunster Maibock
RATING
87

This German-brewed maibock appears unassuming, with characteristic light gold, honeylike appearance topped by a white, rocky head. However, the aroma is edgy with alcohol and biscuity sweetness, and those paying close attention will notice a lemony hop cameo. Heavy sweetness from the malt tastes like warm biscuits with a touch of honey, while alcohol grips the back of the mouth and the peppery, lemony hops lay into the sides of the tongue. Full-bodied with gentle carbonation, there's an alcohol warmth you can feel in your chest. It finishes sweet with honey notes that last well into the aftertaste.
