Lagunitas WAS born yesterday

Blog_20141028_104

The beer stork brought DRAFT this little bundle of joy earlier today: Born Yesterday was literally just that, bottled a mere 24 hours ago and shipped to our doorstep (and select spots around Oregon, California and Washington).

It’s a wet-hopped version of Lagunitas New DogTown Pale Ale, brewed with whole Amarillo, Mosaic and Equinox hops. When the beer was ready to go (that would be yesterday) it was bottled up and pushed into the world, making it one of the freshest brews to come through our door to date. And it shows: This bouncy pale ale has huge juicy grapefruit, pineapple, apricot and mango flavors that blossom through the whole swallow, with just a touch of dank green hops peeking through before it careens into a smooth bitter finish. The juicy hop flavors read like an IPA’s, they’re so full and round, and it’s not particularly effervescent, so the beer sticks to the tongue, which is all the better since it tastes so darn good. Moral of the story: Drink fresh.
