DRAFT REVIEW: Extra Pale Ale
RATING
83

This pale ale pours light gold with brilliant clarity and a tan head that doesn’t last long. With an understated aroma, there are only slight herbal hop scents and hints of fresh-baked bread malts in the nose. The flavor is light throughout, with a husky grain taste in the beginning that is followed by restrained hops (earthy and dull). Though the grains dominate the profile, a sweetness seems to build with each sip. Summit’s pale ale finishes moderately dry, with quick-finishing, peppery hop flavors. This is a watery beer, with soft carbonation and a lingering subtle bitterness.
