If you are looking for a beer that is uncomplicated and easy to drink, this is a good one to start with. A thick, velvety head sits atop an amber body and gives off aromas of sweet mocha, molasses, and grain flavors. Mustiness also comes through here and makes the malt and hops seem muted and weaker than they should be for the style. Roastiness comes through much better in the flavor and there are some classic toasted flavors that come out of this beer as it warms. Often, this style finishes with a medium dryness and some perfumelike hoppiness, but Warsteiner finishes low to moderately sweet, with a slight metallic bite that never lets the hops come through. None of these differences from the style standards are overwhelming though, and all can be viewed as distinct variations that set this beer apart.
