Every time a Leinie's crosses our path, we are pleasantly surprised. Refreshing is usually the best word to describe this brewery's beers, and Creamy Dark is no different. Its rich, clean, dark brown color is beautiful to behold. Filled with light molasses notes, toasted barley, and even some pleasant hop characters, this is not a beer you will soon forget. Up front, fruity hops will remind you of an American lager, but the rich malt tastes that soon dominate are clearly rich enough to fit in this style and leave you tasting toast, nuttiness, and crystal malt. At first, the mouthfeel of this beer is hard to place, but there is certainly firmness to this beer; it makes the finish very crisp and clean on your tongue, especially on the back, where the hops begin to show their strength again.
