DRAFT REVIEW: Bob's 47
RATING
91

This beer begins with German malt aromas with some slight hop scents in the background. But as it warms, the hops come out and play with the malt aromas. The brew's taste presents hops that are pleasantly robust for the style, due largely to the use of the potent magnum hop variety. Still, the malt is the ingredient on display: The beer is filled with rich, pleasing flavors of toasted grain and toffee. Generally, lagers are clean in character, but the added yeast complexity in this beer is an interesting change for the style. There are minor hints of green apples, but they aren't harsh enough to detract from the flavor. And with enough body to stand up to the malt flavors, this beer remains true to the style.
