DRAFT REVIEW: Old Brewery Pale Ale
RATING
96

The ESB is one of the easier styles to brew, but one of the harder styles to brew exceptionally well. Samuel Smith's is one of those breweries that has taken the time to ensure it succeeds at its craft. The brewery's pale ale is elegantly simple with some of the more sought-after flavors in the British brewing world. The fruity yet floral aroma is pleasant to take in no matter what the occasion, and the solid malt body, which showcases some caramel sweetness and even a hint of toffee, soon follows it. The hops have the perfect resiny quality and don't hide the slight mineral character that the hard water of England brings. This is one of the better beers we tasted this issue.
