Pyramid started brewing in 1984 and instantly became one of the leaders of the craft beer movement. It should come as no surprise, then, that this brewery has won numerous medals and awards along the way. Pyramid is also one of the foremost leaders of the American hefeweizen movement, so -- again, no surprise -- this was one of the most flavorful brews we tried in this style. This ale has a great mouthfeel and enough wheat to carry the slight tangy character the style is known for. The aroma is mild, but essentially, this is what the style should taste like. Fortunately, it's also refreshing enough that you can easily put back more than one or two.
