DRAFT REVIEW: Apricot Weizen
RATING
88

It's difficult to brew a beer that both pleases the masses and maintains many complex flavors. One tactic brewers are using is the addition of fruit to their standard beers in order to increase the intricacies and appeal to as many people as possible. Pyramid, a leader in this movement, has done just that with this apricot and has won several gold medals along the way. There is a definitive apricot flavor in the aroma and the flavor as well as some simple soft wheat nuances. The mouthfeel is a bit thin in its attempt to stand up to the strong fruit flavors, but the carbonation is refreshing and makes the beer very easy to drink. If you like wheat beers and would like something a little lighter and fruitier, try this beautiful orange brew from Pyramid.
