DRAFT REVIEW: Trout Slayer
RATING
93

Trout Slayer pours bright, pale gold punctuated by a frothy, white head. Sweet honey and fresh bread scents mingle and warm the nose, while grassy hops and mild herbal scents move through the aroma in waves. The medium-bodied brew’s first swig is a mouthful of whole grain bread flavors, lightly toasted malt sweetness with a delightfully tart exclamation point. The hops are assertive, livening the palate with crisp bitterness and deepening the flavor with hushed green grass and floral notes. In all, the flavors coalesce beautifully with a full wheat profile accented by the clean hop mouthfeel and earthy brushes, creating a thirst-quenching experience that doesn’t overrun the palate.
