DRAFT REVIEW: CSB ESB
RATING
82

This hazy, blood-orange-hued beer’s aroma greets the nose with balance: Pine notes seep into bready, caramel-sweet malt scents while hints of pear and apple thread a light fruitiness through the bouquet. A layer of caramel sweetness spreads out above biscuit flavors and pools in the middle, while slightly tart apple notes jab at the sides of the tongue. CSB’s herbal and orange hop notes blossom in the back, but its robust bitterness draws out the slight apple tartness for an unconventional mouthfeel. Still, this beer’s packed with flavor and finishes balanced with lingering orange and bready notes on the tongue.
