DRAFT REVIEW: ESB
RATING
89

The bready, fruity banana ester bouquet that wafts up from the creamy, off-white head of this dark copper brew conjures images of banana bread. Breathe in again to discover  hidden spicy hops that add kick to the aroma. From front to back on the tongue, this beer’s dominated by sweet caramel notes, which control the experience with little interruption. With each sip, however, fruity esters emerge, as does a low earthy hop presence that gradually builds in the finish. While this beer’s weighted with sweetness and could benefit from a more bitter finish, it’s a treat to imbibe, especially for those who don’t seek a tongue-scraper.
