DRAFT REVIEW: Domaine DuPage
RATING
89

This crystal-clear copper beer wears an active off-white head that clings to the glass before it disappears. Caramel scents imbued with sweet berry esters criss-cross with spicy hops in the nose, while a dash of bright orange adds vigor to the fragrance. Toasted bread swirls with caramel on the tongue, creating a creamy smoothness; peppery hops slice right through it mid-sip. Delicate pear notes emerge briefly before hop bitterness washes the mouth clean. While it lacks that musty, lagered bière de garde character, Domaine is still a nuanced example of the style.
