A foamy, tan head emits soft scents of lemony hops and toffee malt, with a touch of fresh mint. The first sip of this bright amber brew is seemingly simple, but a second mouthful displays the burnt sugary malts and floral, peppery hops that culminate in a well-balanced brew. The malt actually gains complexity as the beer breathes and warms, picking up fruity flavors and a long-lasting sweetness. The mouthfeel is spot-on for the style: medium-bodied, with smooth alcohol and carbonation, and a slightly dry finish. The malt flavors seem to end abruptly, but they’re stunning while they last. |
