Erik the Red
Irish Red Ale
ABV: 4.8% IBU: 20 |
Erik wears reddish-brown and a creamy, tan head formed by the tight, fine bubbles that race to the top of the glass. The aroma is a celebration of malt, with grain and bread-crust sweetness escaping through the nose. Barley rules the flavor as well, with big, caramelized grain and fresh-baked bread taking hold of the tongue. Hop notes are expertly muted, contributing only faint peppery tastes and mild bitterness. The beer’s sweetness makes the body seem full and creamy, but soft carbonation concludes the swallow with a clean aftertaste. |
