DRAFT REVIEW: Wild Raspberry Ale
RATING
89

Pouring a deep amber hue, this attractive brew sports sparkling ruby highlights with just a whisper of an off-white head. The brew’s earthy, hoppy, and bready perfume is accentuated by tart real-raspberry fruitiness; a deeper, darker earthy quality that’s seedlike in character proves this brew’s wild indeed. While bready malts and humble earthy hop flavors dominate the mouth, an inconspicuous raspberry tartness builds on the sides of the tongue with each sip. After a few swallows, the raspberry’s presence steadies: Its fresh fruit flavor livens up the beer’s bread character while its tartness bolsters the hop bitterness for a crisp, dry finish. This beer doesn’t bombard you with fruitiness, but rather effortlessly weaves complementing flavors through the whole pint.
