DRAFT REVIEW: Raspberry Tart
RATING
95

Even in a blind tasting, there’s no disputing which fruit’s packed inside this brew. Pouring a deep ruby hue with a pink head lacing, this beer’s sour raspberry aroma assaults the nose. On the front of the tongue, an initial wash of sweet fruit hits first, before a strong rise of acidic, sour raspberry takes over. Feel it pinch the sides of the tongue and cheeks and invade the taste buds as it flows back. Vibrant and juicy, the fruit combines with bready malts mid-sip to create the sensation of homemade raspberry pie -- add a dollop of whipped cream and you might not be able to tell the difference. Despite the lip-coating initial sweetness, the fruit’s tartness combined with excited carbonation cleans the tongue, culminating in a fairly neat finish.
