DRAFT REVIEW: Old Horizontal
RATING
92

Slightly hazy with a deep copper color, this classic barleywine wears a rocky, tan head. Grassy and resinous hop notes sing through the bouquet while dark caramel malts hum quietly in the background. On the tongue, big, grainy malt sweetness flows over the palate, evolving into moderate toasted and caramel tones that sink deep. Alcohol is notable through the whole experience, warming deep into the chest. Bitter, citrus hops even out the malt profile, while beautiful, dark raisin and plum flavors blush the swallow. Old Horizontal sums up beautifully with a stretch of sweetness and warmth lasting long after the sip concludes.
