DRAFT REVIEW: Buzzsaw Brown Seasonal Ale
RATING
86

Deschutes’ brewers set out to pay homage to the rich logging and timber history of eastern Oregon by naming its brown ale Buzzsaw, complete with imagery of an old saw cutting across a log. The beer has a big aroma, with biscuity malt overtones and floral spices peeking through. It is deep gold in color, has great clarity, and a lovely frothy, tan head that sticks around. While incredibly refreshing, there are some buttery hints to the mouthfeel, adding to a prolonged graininess and toasted aftertaste. The carbonation is smooth, not at all biting or acidic, and the thin body and low alcohol content add to the brew’s easy-drinking nature.
