DRAFT REVIEW: Obsidian Stout
RATING
91

Although Deschutes'; Mirror Pond Pale Ale or Black Butte Porter tend to steal the spotlight, the Obsidian is no backstage beer. It pours dark and is topped with a think long-lasting head. A mild aroma hints at a casual taste profile, but one sip of this beer will immediately catch your attention. The initial slightly harsh notes ripen into a bold malt profile and strong hop flavor, before maturing into a mild hop bitterness. The formidable hop character and malt profile team up perfectly to make a great brew.
