DRAFT REVIEW: Bohemian Black Lager
RATING
88

This beer was first brewed to commemorate Spoetzl’s 97th anniversary, but its popularity earned it a spot in the year-round lineup. It is mahogany-hued with a big, foamy head. Dried grains initially waft from the beer; a gentle alcohol note grows louder as the beer warms. This black lager greets the palate with soft caramel sweetness and mild coffee flavors, then deepens into a dark fruit sweetness finish. This is a thin beer with very low alcohol presence that ends with a lingering coffee flavor.
