Baird’s pale ale is light golden and slightly hazy with a rocky cap that sticks to the glass. Any nose can effortlessly detect the aroma’s zesty hops and their grapefruit and pine characters. Your first sip is an unassuming one, with fresh, lightly toasted breadiness and a touch of sweet caramel. Next, the hops gently slide in to create a mild bitterness and a subtle woody, grapefruity flavor that settles in on the sides of the tongue. An exceptionally clean and crisp finish owes itself to a medium body, very low alcohol presence, and high carbonation. The beer would benefit from a more extroverted hop character, though it is still quite easy to enjoy.
