DRAFT REVIEW: Bridgeport IPA
RATING
90

This IPA has medaled in several World Beer Cups and Great American Beer Festivals, so it's no surprise this brewery thrives in America's biggest craft brewing town. If you are looking for a fresh-smelling hop profile in your IPA, this light amber beer is a fine display of many hop varieties. No distinct hop aroma comes out, but there is a general citrus character that hangs just above the glass throughout the drink. A slight breadiness finishes off the aroma and last into the flavor where, after you get through the uncomplicated malt, you are bound to pick up the hops again. Unlike many modern IPAs, this brew has a restrained hop bitterness. Fitting to style though, the flavoring hops are very fresh and quite strong. Bottle conditioning seems to add a minor yeast character, which blends smoothly with the moderate body and carbonation.
