DRAFT REVIEW: Monster Ale 2005
RATING
89

This very limited release became available in early October, so if you can get your hands on it, guard it fiercely. It also ages incredibly well, so make sure and hold on to one like we did for the last year. This brew is concocted using three separate mashes, which translate into lots of strong and complex malt flavors as well as lots of alcohol. Both of these fine characteristics are evident in this intricate barleywine. The aroma is almost sherrylike, and the hops are significant enough to make you take note. The flavor is slightly alcoholic and very malty with hops finishing the beer cleanly. Drink some this winter if you can find it: You won't be sorry.
