DRAFT REVIEW: Wee Heavy
RATING
89

AleSmith Brewing Company was founded in 1995, which means that head brewer, Peter Zien, didn't have as much time as some of the other entrants in this category to perfect his craft. Apparently, he didn't nead it. The Wee Heavy is great looking in the glass, with a dark amber color, good lacing, and a tan head. The aroma is rich and chocolaty, somewhat reminiscent of a nice porter. It starts with a soft fruit flavor that matures into a slightly vinous finish. While this beer is very good right now, it will be even better after a few years in a dark cellar.
