DRAFT REVIEW: Hoppenberg Uncertainty Principle
RATING
92

This Belgian-style imperial IPA billows a fragrant blend of West Coast hops and Belgian yeast: Orange hop notes mingle with estery pear, while hay and black pepper embellish the scent. The beer’s two personalities come into balance on the tongue: Bready malts and muted hay run down the middle as pineapple, orange and grapefruit notes swell; a dash of sugar underscores the fruit. Biting black pepper and aggressive bitterness sharpen the swallow, creating a dry, punctuated finish.
