DRAFT REVIEW: Hop Rod Rye
RATING
87

Get ready for something different! While most beers are primarily crafted with malted barley and sometimes wheat, there are very few that are made with rye. The use of rye (20 percent of the total grain) separates this brew from the reset of the IPA family. It was a wonderful rye flavor and aroma that back up the strong hop flavor and aroma. The carbonation is slightly high but does not seriously distract from the enjoyment of this one-of-a-kind brew. The crisp texture (that's the rye talking) and slight lemon flavor linger, but without sourness. If you haven't experienced a rye beer, this is a great place to start.
