DRAFT REVIEW: Hinterland Luna Coffee Stout
RATING
85

A touch of chocolate mingles with subtle orange and roasted malt scents for a subdued but cohesive aroma. The beer’s coffee notes are understated, but roasted malts tease them into the limelight. Subsequent nutty hints and caramel sweetness give Luna a quiet complexity, and just before the swallow, a dry wave sweeps through for a sudden arid finish. Although not the most overtly coffee-flavored beer, Luna charms with a milder profile.
