DRAFT REVIEW: Mokah
RATING
96

Pouring near-black with a fawn head and ruby highlights that outline the glass, this imperial stout pushes the limit of how chocolaty a beer can smell. Suggestive of a 3 Musketeers candy bar, heavy milk chocolate scents seep into the nose while snappy coffee grounds shake up the senses. Silky, sweet chocolate rides down the tongue alongside bitter roasted malts, while woodsy hops bordering on pine bloom in the back. Mokah’s a chocolate-forward drink to be sure, but it never loses its stout identity, finishing with a dash of roastiness and a receding cocoa flavor.
