Glowing orange in the glass, this beer’s soft white head lasts and lasts. Grassy notes add an edge to candied orange hop scents, which sink into a biscuity aroma. On the tongue, lemon and lavender wash over a bed of toasty malts, while a citric tartness clings to the back of the tongue. Although toasted malts attempt to support the hops, the combination of bitter and tart proves too much. In the end, this beer finishes just out of balance, and while enjoyable, could benefit from heftier malts. |
