The bumper sticker for beer runners

How do you know someone has run a marathon?

They’ll tell you all about it. Over and over and over again.

There’s some truth to that old joke and the stereotype that runners can’t shut up about their training, their ailments, their races and their accomplishments. Understandably, some people find us insufferable.

And sometimes you don’t even need to meet a runner to have him or her annoy you. You just need to be behind some runners’ cars to see the 13.1, 26.2 or 70.1 bumper stickers. It’s the runner equivalent of buying a concert t-shirt to prove that you were there.

Now there’s a new sticker that parodies these emblems.

It’s the “0.1: Went To Fridge to Get a Beer” bumper sticker.

You can also get the proud beer drinker’s proclamation as a t-shirt, keychain, koozie, cap or pint glass at http://wenttofridgetogetabeer.com.

I’ve never been one to get a bumper sticker, but now I want to put one of these next to a 26.2 sticker to prove that runners also indulge in beer and can laugh at themselves, too.

But first, I have to run to the fridge to get a beer.
