This muted, orange-brown brew wears a fluffy white head that pops with bubbles. Scents of caramel, toast, dark cherry and raisin fill the nose, while brandylike alcohol tickles the nostrils. Hot alcohol races across the tongue as sweet bread crust flavors and a hint of warm cherries awaken the taste buds and seep into the palate. Finishing with an alcohol bite, this beer’s booziness comes on a bit strong, but if you can work through it, the malt profile is worth unearthing.
