DRAFT REVIEW: Southern Tier IPA
RATING
93

Southern Tier’s IPA is a seriously beautiful beer, light honey-gold with a creamy white head that sticks to the glass as it slowly dissipates. The fragrance further woos the senses with a massive fresh-hop cone scent marked by signature American hop flair: cedar, citrus, and a slightly resinous aroma. Tastes of honey and toast greet the tongue first, followed by a complex hop profile composed of piney, sticky, and lemony notes. Its hop bitterness is assertive, to be certain, but doesn’t cling to the tongue or contribute any harshness. The beer could benefit from a firmer malt presence to support the hops, but hop-heads everywhere will rejoice with this compelling brew.
