DRAFT REVIEW: Seven
RATING
88

With a classic saison orange hue and a rocky head, this hazy brew boasts a perfume that is essentially an enticing cloud of black pepper and clean citrus with a smattering of yeast funk. On the tongue, however, it’s all about tartness: From front to back, tart pink grapefruit jabs the taste buds and pricks the sides of the tongue, creating a near-puckering sensation. Meanwhile, light bread flavors and just a touch of earthy hops create a foundation for the citrus to play against, ensuring that it doesn’t completely overrun the palate. Although the citrus character’s somewhat strong for the style, there’s no denying this beer’s refreshing and bright, with a carbonic finish that leaves the mouth dry and clean.
