Colorado Kölsch pours an unbelievably clear shade of pale gold; it’s so clean, the beer could be mistaken for dyed water. The aroma, however, sets it apart: Just a hint of sulfur from the yeast plays around biscuity, grainy notes. On the tongue, the beer’s certainly grain-centric, as this quality maintains its dominance throughout the swallow. However, pleasant hints of pear bring touches of sweetness, as the high-carbonation works the tongue front to back. A lingering sweetness flows into the aftertaste, and although there’s a dry quality in the finish, it remains into the next sip. |
