DRAFT REVIEW: Midas Touch Golden Elixir
RATING
95

Inspired by a 2,700-year-old recipe reconstructed from vessels found in King Midas’ tomb, Midas Touch’s base style is braggot (a mead made with malt). From there, Dogfish adds Muscat grapes and saffron, alongside other herbs and spices, culminating in a taste experience like few others. The bouquet’s floral and sweet, ballooning with honey, saffron, and juicy grape notes. Sticky sweetness coats the tongue, and honey threads the creamy swallow. Earthy and herbal brushes round out the flavor, while the grapes contribute a distinct white wine quality. It finishes dry, with smooth alcohol glowing in the chest.
