DRAFT REVIEW: Dunkel Weisse
RATING
97

Hopf’s dunkel is murky brown with a big, frothy head. It first emits large, fresh clove aromas that taper into an immense banana-bread scent. The flavors mimic the aroma, with an added rush of sweetness from caramelized malts up front, quickly followed by tart, lemony wheat. The swallow ends with a mild husky graininess and caramelized banana tastes that linger. Hopf is complex, but also incredibly balanced: It both livens the palate and quenches thirst.
