RATING
92
This alluring mahogany beer wears a tan crown. The aroma is an expressive melding of soft raisin notes, a touch of alcohol and faint earthy hops. In fact the aroma is subtle all around, especially compared to stronger versions, but is more than appropriate for the style. The taste washes over the tongue with sweet, caramelized barley and a mild toasted character. It quickly deepens with earthy hops, raisin tones, and woodiness. This beer’s body is on the thin side, but has a sturdy alcohol presence in the finish.
