DRAFT REVIEW: Horizon Wheat
RATING
89

Pouring a cloudy, pale straw color with a frothy white head, Horizon Wheat has the appearance you’d expect from a traditional German wheat beer. The aroma, however, is purely American, with an initial burst of wheat that is light and lemony with a touch of husky grain, followed by the scent of faint citrusy hops. Its flavor provides a short-lived but deep lemon taste, like a lemon bar, bolstered with dry grains and mellow hops lending subtle bitterness for balance. Horizon has a chewy texture with very soft carbonation and a hidden alcohol presence, all coalescing to create a very refreshing drinking experience. The brew finishes fairly neutral -- not sweet and not dry -- with lingering citrus flavors.
