Marzen
|
Deep golden in color, this Marzen offers great clarity and a foamy, tan head that sticks around and serves as a warm invitation for the beer. The biscuity aroma is soft but clearly the defining feature, with very low hops noted. The flavor is mild overall, with moderate biscuity sweetness up front and a mild earthy hop character following. The bitterness is as you'd expect; a background to the malt character of the beer. This brew finishes dry with a mild lingering astringency and pleasantly bittersweet aftertastse. Light body and mild carbonation make this a drinkable beer, although it's a bit subdued for what we're looking for in a Marzen. |
