DRAFT REVIEW: Eliot Ness Amber Lager
RATING
91

Rumor has it that Eliot Ness, who spearheaded Prohibition, visited the bar located where Great Lakes Brewery operates today. We'd guess if this beer had been on tap, he wouldn't have been so vigilant about his cause. Clarity is a minor issue with this beer, as it is not brilliantly clear, but the head lasts a decent amount of time and holds in the soft aromas. The beer's bouquet is refreshing, exhibiting citrus and floral hops that complement the malt scents. A creamy and filling mouthfeel distinguishes this lager, as does a healthy fill of malt flavors, the most prominent of which are toffee, candi sugar, and toasted bread flavors.
